Inspection Services ...
No other company is better than Mold Pro at inspections! That's a bold statement. How
can we make that claim? We can make that claim because we are not just made up of
mold professionals. Mold Pro does not just limit itself to employees who are trained in
the art of identifying water intrusion, or searching all "red flag areas" for mold, or
gleaning valuable information from home owners and property managers. Mold Pro
does something no other company does. Mold Pro employs dogs!
Q. What is a Scent Detection Canine?
A. A specially trained dog that sniffs out a particular odor in order to be rewarded.
Q. Are mold detection canines trained on a specific kind of mold?
A. There are many different molds. Mold Pro has its dogs trained on 18 specific
molds that are commonly found in homes
Q. How long does it take to train a mold detection canine?
A. It takes Mold Pro three months to have a dog ready to work in the field.
Q. Does the dog eat the mold? And will the dog get sick?
A. A canine alerts on mold by sitting and pointing her snout at the mold they've
found. The dog will not move until the handler acknowledges the alert. The
canine will never eat anything other than its daily ration of dog food. There are
no indications that mold adversely affects the health of canines.
Q. Are mold detection canines trained just like other scent detection dogs?
A. Canines are trained to detect mold, bed bugs, termites, narcotics, explosives,
arson accelerants, humans, etc. Actually, our master trainer, David Latimer of
FSI K9 Academy trains all these types just at his facility alone!
Q. Is there any authoritative document touting canines for detecting mold?
A. You can click here for the document on detection dogs by the EPA (the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency)
Q. Are your dogs and handlers certified?
A. Our canines and handlers are trained by FSI K9 Academy, and they are certified
annually by the World Detector Dog Organization.
Q. How much does it cost to have Mold Pro inspect visually and with a scent
detection canine/handler team?
A. It cost $295 for a single family home or facility up to 3000 square feet.
Q. How can I learn more about FSI K9 Academy and the WDDO?
